The UK Government has published its Solar Roadmap – a document that details government and industry actions to increase solar panel uptake uptake across the UK.
Our policy manager Abigail Ward said:
“With solar being a central part of Clean Power by 2030 and reducing the UK’s reliance on fossils fuels, today’s roadmap is a welcome outline of the steps the UK Government will take to roll out solar at scale.
“As the roadmap rightly points out, households installing solar panels will feel the benefit of notably lower energy bills. We know that households are interested in solar – proven by the popularity of our solar panel calculator, which gives people tailored insights into how solar panels could work for their home. Our recent research also revealed that more than half of people in England would consider installing solar panels if money were no object.
“We now need to see further details on financial incentives, expected in the Warm Homes Plan this autumn, to support people to take up solar and other low carbon technologies in their homes.”
